Procedure to ugrade Disk Firmware and Disk Qualification PAckages

Hi,

 

Can someone let me know how to upgrade disk firmware and DQP. Does it needs downtime or can be done in the background.

Refer KB https://kb.netapp.com/index?page=content&id=1010762 for the procedure to updaate firmware.

Disk firmware upgrade does not need downtime & can run in the background. refer https://library.netapp.com/ecmdocs/ECMP1511538/html/man1/na_disk_fw_update.1.html#toc

 Wil it be causing any disruption ?? I am doing it on a HA pair for SATA 2TB disks

The KB says for CIFS it is applicable to SAN environment as well ?
