Removing old Filers on System Manager

I can't remove old non-existant filers from the latest version of system manager becuase the  machines are no longer accessible.  Is there a manual way to do this ?

What is the error message you get while trying to remove old controllers?

It just says that "the host is not responding" which makes sense since they are no longer available.
