Setup SSH keys for Domain users in administrators group

We would like to move away from rsh and host.equiv file.   Does this article - https://kb.netapp.com/support/index?page=content&id=1010841 also pertain to Domain Accounts?

The reason why i'm asking is because i've read that ssh keys for domain users is not supported

Any guidance would be greatly appreciated.

I found a KB which basically states thats not supported, but how do people use ssh with scripts without saving keys?
