Splitting drives in a DS4486 tray between nodes in HA pair

Hi,

We're planning to split the disk drives in a DS4486 tray (in which two physical disks are housed per disk carrier) between 2 FAS3240 in a HA-Pair configuration. One node would own all the *L1 drives and the other *L2 drives. This is mainly for I/O balancing.

Is this advisable/recommended ? Any gotchas ? Anything we should watch out for ?.

Thanks.

That's bad idea and I am not sure if NetApp even allows it. For drive replacement both drives must be removed, so NetApp needs to evacuate second drive as well. For that both drives need to belong to the same node.
