rebuild on 8.0.2P4 7-Mode in HA

Hello

I need to break the raid groups on at least one shelf in an HA configuraton.

Config as follows:

NetApp Release 8.0.2P4 7-Mode: Tue Nov 15 16:16:47 PST 2011
System Storage Configuration: Multi-Path HA

CTRL0

Aggregate aggr0 (online, raid_dp) (block checksums)
Plex /aggr0/plex0 (online, normal, active, pool0)
RAID group /aggr0/plex0/rg0 (normal)

CTRL1

Aggregate aggr0 (online, raid_dp) (block checksums)
Plex /aggr0/plex0 (online, normal, active, pool0)
RAID group /aggr0/plex0/rg0 (normal)

RAID group /aggr0/plex0/rg1 (normal)

This is intended to accomplish 2 things

1) CTRL1's disk groups need to be turned into a single disk group

2) need hot spares for either disk group

Is there a way to do this without reinstalling?

thanks

If this is new install and there is no data, it is more simple to reinstall. It may be possible to avoid it by creating small aggregate, moving root volume to it, and then destroying existing one. It will take almost exactly the same time (you need to zero disks anyway) and some experience, although conceptually it is very simple.

Data loss on the array is acceptable -- this is a new installation

Hello

I'm going to go ahead and accept this as the solution. I don't think we have the software.  I'll look into the breaking aggr or RAID group, creating a RAID 4 group, and placing a second aggr on that one. NDMP vol0 to the new aggr1 .Then move vol0 back, and re-absorb the drives.

Thank you again, sir. I see you helping a lot of people, you must not sleep!
