Global email alert

Hello,

What about Global email alert in Virtual storage console 4.0 in the Backup and Recovery tab, setup section?  Will it alert for datastores that are nearly full?  For datastores that are disconnect?

I just want to know what kind of alert it will send before puting it on.  See attached image.

The Global Alert in Backup and Recovery will only alert for backup jobs configured within, when they are triggered and complete.

For alerting in storage consumption and capacity, you can leverage a variety of tools:  OnCommand/DFM, vCenter alerting, VASA, and a variety of 3rd party tools.  I'd highly recommend leveraging VASA for alerting if you are running vSphere 5 and have met all of the requirements on the IMT.
