Cisco IT built its private cloud to meet multiple challenges. Like many IT organizations, it was under pressure to be more productive, support new businesses, and improve service-level requirements. It also needed to maximize asset utilization and reduce its power, cooling, and data center footprint.

Sidney Morgan, Distinguished Engineer, Cisco IT, along with technical experts from NetApp, Cisco, and VMware, will be online to answer your questions about Cisco’s experience building its own private cloud.

Participate in this interactive session and learn how Cisco IT was able to:

  • Architect a secure multi-tenant infrastructure for ITaaS.
  • Define a service catalog that spans server, network, and storage layers.
  • Shrink provisioning time from weeks to minutes using automation.

What was the timeline for the Cisco cloud project (how much time did you spend planning before they started to build it out)?

How is portability of data handled in case of downtime? Do you have planned downtime or are you able to move VMs and data around to keep everything running?
