Performance of Roaming Profiles on NetApp filer with SATA Disks

Hi,

We have 2 x FAS3040 filers clustered with shelves of 750GB SATA disks. We plan to use these for all file services including roaming profiles.

The clients are Windows XP SP2.

My question is will the filers be able to handle our roaming profiles??

They are currently hosted from a Windows 2003 cluster which have disks presented from an EVA8000 with FC disks.

Although this storage may be good as it is FC disks it currently hosts alot more things like SQL clusters, VMWare, Mail Cluster, Other File Clusters etc.

Anyone had issues running roaming profiles in NetApp?

It is about 3500 users at first.

Thanks

John

we are hosting our roaming profiles for about 600 concurrent users (~3000 users total) on a 3140 with sata disks. works like a charm. our profiles are between 130 and 700 megs large (lots of programs used here in our university).

maybe that helps
