VMware RDM mapping to Windows Guest

Hello,

Running a FAS3220...   I am creating a LUN to provide a VMware RDM mapping to a guest Windows OS.   When creating the LUN inside of OnCommand System Manager, do I create it as type "VMware" or "Windows"?

the description says "Storage will be optimized according to the type selected".    Should I pick the host type (VMware) or the guest type (Windows) ??

Thanks in advance,

Claud

Hi Claud

You have to use Windows type when creating RDM Lun ,if you have SnapDrive software installed inside your VM , it will be easier and better to use it for lun provisioning inside VM
