whenever i resize a volume in netapp and then try top expand a lun to the max size it says the storage system volume does not have enough space to expand the disk to the size enterred. enter a valid disk size. any idea?

k i was able to split the lun clone from the parent lun with lun clone split start -d /vol/flexvol0/iscsi_vol0_clone now i have 2 luns occupying the same amount of space. how do i copy this lun over the other one? or restore the data to the original lun?

ok i closed out of snapdrive and reopened. then i was able to see the drive but lost the drive letter. I assigned a drive letter but now aftter the resize, it lost all files and its asking for reformat

I created a iscsi volume and mapped it to a windows 7 vm. then i used the software initiator to connect to hte volume and can see it, have a drive letter and can write to it. then i extended the lun in netapp and then rescanned the disk in wondows and i was able to extend it. but when i shrink it back down, i could not shrink it back in windows gives this error DiskPart has encountered an error: The service cannot be started, either because it is disabled or because it has no enabled devices associated with it. See the System Event Log for more information. any idea?

wow, i resized it from command line lun resize /vol/iscsi/iscsi_qtr/iscsi_vol0 -4g it did resize it but when i went to the windows vm on snapdrive and rescanned it did show the drive as resized. but in my computer is still shoed the old size. So I went into windows disk management and rescanned. and it showed the new size. BUT it lost the drive letter and now the disk is showing as RAW not NTFS. so i guess this method of shrinking a lun makes you lose your drive and data?

there is a iscsi volume for 10gb iscsi lun of 8gb created from this i mapped this to a windows vm and installed snapdrive on it. I see 7.9 gb volume in snapdrive. But I cannot shrink it
