You need to set snapmirror to off so they the relationships dont start updating during your uprgrade work. All you need to do is quiese, update and once the update is complete turn off snapmirror on source and destination.

if this is simulator have a look at the Time Settings on the ESXi host and then ssh to the ESXI host and run the date command and verify they are the same. If the are different the simulator is most liley picking up the incorrect time.

ontap 8.3 does not exist for 7 mode, only cDOT the latest release for 7 mode is 8.2.3. 7 mode is no longer being developed so for that reason alone you should install cDOT with ontap 8.3 you can take advantage of ADP which will give you more usable capacity than 8.2

you will need to download hte disk qual package seperately and copy it to the filer. Also did you run upgrade advisor as you may have disks that need their firmware upgraded prior to the ontap image upgrade

It all about LIF's now and what ports they get assigned to e0a and e0c are reuqired for intercluster swithces e0b and e0d are for data access, cluster mgmt, replication etc as this is simulation and swithcing was done on the esxi host i didnt really break them up, I just created the LIFs and assigned them to a port

Each vsim requires 4 nic's. You can create a cluster and add nodes in but you wont be able to configure them HA. Not the end of the world but you wont be able perform any storage failovers When i rolled out my vsim i used vsphere but for some reason i had to use the vmware worksation licenses so i fyou add licenses and cannot enbale services could be that - just a heads up

The replacement disk could be faulty run command aggr status -f from the node that owns the disk and confirm. Also check for an amber light on the disk It could also be that your disk qual is not up to date
