The syntax is: Set-NcQtree /vol/vol1/qtree1 -SecurityStyle ntfs -EnableOplocks -VserverContext vserver_1 Or you can replace -EnableOplocks with -DisableOplocks

Hi, I've had a search around and cannot find a Data Ontap powershell command to reallocate volumes. Has this been included or is it not available yet ? Thanks

Hi, We are planning to add a few disks into our existing aggregates. Within 7-mode we used to reallocate all the volumes after doing this, i this still necessary with clustered ontap ?

thanks Scott I believe you are right, we are using LS-Mirrors on all our root drives for vservers. That makes sense, I overlooked that componenet.

Hi, is anyone else having a strange issue where you create a new volume for NFS, followed by creating a new export policy and not being able to mount the export for about 20-30mins ?

Hi, I just came across the same issue. I ran a manual poll with the option to rebuild ETL and the status changed to Success. Did you try a manual poll ?

thanks for your reply, so based on your schedule 1 dedupe job can not run for more than 2 minutes ? Is that a bit of a nightmare to administer a schedule for 400 volumes ? There must be a setting somewhere that will limit the amount of concurrent dedupe job running, that way just use the default midnight schedule and let the system work out the queues.

Hi good to see you worked it out, sorry I had not found time to look into your logs. I actually seen other weird issues with enabling jumbo frames with the sim and in workstation. When running on vm workstation, like you mentioned above, don't use jumbo frames.

When you provisioned the simulator did you right click the *.vmx file and select open with VMware Workstation ? I can't look at the log files now but will today or tomorrow

Hi Riley, I've tried to enable the performance reports via the cli with the -p option however it says this is not supported in clustered mode

Hi within OnCommand Report that are lots of things you can do with capacity, etc but nothing really around performance, i.e. iops Is there any way to get performance stats into Oncommand Report ? or even reports via dfm ? If you try to enable the performance reports in dfm it says "Performance Reports are not supported in Cluster-Mode"

Hi Scott, thanks Yes I will add "Use at your own risk" The vreport method, is this only if c-mode cannot see the 7-mode aggregate on the disks ?

Exactly, purely transitioning though you can still setup a schedule to constantly update the snapmirror until you are ready to cut over, not to be confused with setting up a snapmirror and leaving it running for DR

Actually, I believe it is supported as it comes straight from the netapp support site for transitioning https://library.netapp.com/ecmdocs/ECMP1213598/html/index.html (Under transitioning volumes manually)

Hi, we are replicating between 7-mode system and cluster mode system, you cannot go the other way though. You need to make sure that your snapmirror is type TDP and you need to setup a peer relationship. I've created a tutorial on my blog to high light the steps involved along with a few Gotcha's that i've come across: http://www.sysadmintutorials.com/tutorials/netapp/netapp-clustered-ontap/netapp-snapmirror-7-mode-to-cluster-mode/

Hi Emanuele, further to my previous comment today I have the resolution for you. It is possible to delete a 7-mode aggregate from within a c-mode system. I've written up a tutorial on the full process in my blog: http://www.sysadmintutorials.com/tutorials/netapp/netapp-clustered-ontap/netapp-7-mode-shelf-connected-to-cluster-mode-system/

Hi we are having the same issue, The old 7-mode system had been shut off and disk shelves unplugged. When connected into the c-mode system I could still see the disk ownership as the 7-mode system. I'm able to reassign the disks to a new c-mode node however it see's the old aggregate. I can't change state to spare as it says: Error: command failed: Failed to unfail the disk. Reason: Disk is not currently failed. I can't change the state to failed as it says: disk fail: Cannot fail disk (volume/plex is offline). Any other ideas ?
