I am trying to work out the best way to back up our netapp systems. using Veritas Netbackup and NDMP
question 1 ) If we are taking snapshots and want to backup only the changes ...is there a way in NDMP only grab the block changes from the snapshot - this way it does not have to scan the whole filesystem for changes?
Question 2). How many of you are using synthetic backups and NDMP to a netapp appliance?
Question 3). Anyone using a Veritas Media Server to schedule and make the NDMP call to the netapp applicance? if not how are you scheduling.
any other thoughts or words of wisdom on NDMP, Netapp and Veritas Netbackup (Using 6.5.x of NBU and 8.0.1 of OnTap)

you can do increamental backups, use veritas to do it and it's painless

My company uses it and it works flawlessly

The best way is to use veritas media server to schedule so you can have proper catelogue of your backup and using dump from filer command promt isn't fun
