snmp trap with SnapCenter Plug-in for VMware

I want to set up a script to send an SNMP trap when a backup fails with the SnapCenter Plug-in for VMware (SCV).
What kind of script should I create?

Also, if you wish, you can simply setup 'email-alerts' (via SMTP), and get notified to the email/email-list when the backup job fails.
