Hi, I need to extend the trial period for an OCI POC and I've received a license expiring on june 11th. The validity period is 30 days starting from the day of generation of the license but unluckly customer was ready only 15 days ago. So we've losen half of the period! Anyway people are asking us for the OCI serial number but I'm not able to find the serial in this 7.0 release. It's not reported neither in the oci server web portal setup pages and in the license one neither in the client under help/about. Can you help me? Is it possibile to have a new license at all avoiding this s/n issue where I will remove the old and I will put the new one? Regards,

Hi, during a POC of OCI 7.0 I'm trying to collect data from a NAS gateway (VG8) belonging to a VMAX system. The VMAX is regularly collected after having added a Symmetrix DS using SYMAPI_SERVER (I know this is deprecated but customer does not have implemented SMI-S. Attempting to collect data from the VG8 configuring it as a Celerra SSH the connectivity test runs fine but the collecting process seems that interrupt itself after it receives an error: size is reported as negative value. Looking at the logs it seems that the inventory phase runs fine for most items but then stops itself. I wanted to attach the log but I've no way to do it here.

Hi Matt! thanks a lot. I would have never thought! I knew that RFC but I thought that OCI considered just label if there's no DNS lookup. Bye!

Hi all, I've created a regular expression for AHR to identify hostnames from switch alias that seemed to work...or at least this is what it let you believe. In switch alias I have Adapter_A_rm_hostname or Adapter_B_rm_hostname and I've created Adapter_(.*) as regular expression. In preview I can see red underlined the correct path that will be extracted (A_rm_hostname or B_rm_hostname, customer want both). Format is \1. But nothing happen and clicking on Preview button I've got 0 matches and the No Match window report "invalid character for name". Which name? Which char? Regards, PS) OCI is 7.0

Just discovered. Server Manager works ONLY for Windows 2008 Servers. For other computers Computer Manager must be used. You can found in Administrative Tools and/or run it from CLI with compmgmt.msc. From Computer Manager you can access to the filer with no issues at all.

Maybe you will not believe it but I cannot find documentation on a boring issue. I cannot get the CIFS management of a NetApp 8.1.3 7Mode using the old but good "Connect to another computer" from the Server Manager (MMC) of a Windows 2008 R2 server. The laconic message I get is attached. Of course CIFS is running, the logged user on the server is a local Administrator, is BUILTIN\Administrators member on the NetApp and this can get access to any share including C$ and Admin$. Same actions from an XP client works fine. Rumors reported me some change in registry, some in local security policies but I cannot find details neither on support/communities pages or in the web. Suggestions? Solutions? Thank you in advance. Regards.

I think that I've really tried to use 8.2 license on a 8.1.2 installation... I know that licenses are bound to serial (too mani years of free license? ) and I think I will have to change from loader using setenv also if this is not documented in the simulator installation manual for version 8.2 Regards

I know that licensing has deeply changed in 8.2. But, sorry, I've made a mistake reporting the name of the file. I've used the license found in the correct link and file (CMode_licenses_8.2.0GA.txt) but maybe I've tried to use this on a preceding 8.1.2 installation! Regards

Hi all, I've a really boring license issue. I'm using the ESX version. Attempting to put the cluster license on the first node from the "vsim_licenses_812.txt" the answer from system is that is wrong. Cluster Base License (Serial Number 1-80-000008) look at this strange serial (???) ================================================ You use the cluster base license when setting up the first simulator in a cluster. Cluster Base license = SMKQROWJNQYQSDAAAAAAAAAAAAAA I've also tried the one in the PDF (ETYYFLXUQUMADFAAAAAAAAAAAAAA), same result. The strange is in the txt license files two serials are mentioned for the 2 nodes to install other licenses: 4079432753 and 4034389062 but in my running simulator I can read from env that values are this: SYS_SERIAL_NUL=4055372-81-6 (???) bootarg.nvram.sysid = 4055372816 (this seems a sim serial...) Please help. Thank you, NOTE: In the ESX version networking on VMX file is wrong because you've to remove the vNIC and recreate from scratch. The original ones belong to a VMware Player/WS env because 2 are internal only and the other 2 are nat.

Uh! Self solved...that's luck! I've noted a discrepancy between the time/timezone os Windows Server and the one used by DWH. Nevertheless it was set as "use the default" the report time were of the PST timezone. I've forced DWH to use the same tz of server and the reports now go out by email!!! Very strange,...

After the upgrade to OCI 6.4 I've lost all my emailed reports. I got this error: java.util.MissingResourceException: Can't find resource for bundle ncmsg, key it I've set as usual the Notification fields in IBM Cognos Configuration. I've also tested with success. The smtp relay is working fine, after all the server is always the same. The smtp relay is anonymous so in the user and pwd field I leave all blank. The notification test is ok. Any idea?

Already tried. It's correct. In my opening post I've changed some name for privacy reasons...anyway the REAL command is sdcli disk create -d D -p itromfs10:/vol/rom_exchange_ex01_users_data/rom_exchange_ex01_users_data.lun -z 491520MB -IG itromvm12 rcu_generated -dtype dedicated -ds DSP_ROM10 I've a doubt. Should I put the iqn and not the host name? Manuals seems to say "hostname" and not iqn C:\Program Files\NetApp\SnapDrive>sdcli igroup list -f itromfs10 Listing the Initiator groups ... Hi. Using Snapdrive from GUI and passing it the same parameters of the command line works. No change to have it using sdcli My command is: sdcli disk create -d D -p filer:/vol/volname/lunname.lun -z 491520MB -IG vmwaresrv01 rcu_generated -dtype dedicated -ds DSP_ROM10 I get the error (EX01 is the server from where I execute SDCLI): EX01 : Checking input parameters EX01 : Checking access control EX01 : Checking policies Unable to create LUNs. Error: No igroup found for the current node. DSP_ROM10 is the iSCSI datastore where to put the rdm file, rcu_generated is the igroup name containing all the iqn of the vmware esx forming the cluster and vmwaresrv01 is the vmware esx server hosting EX01 vm. I've also tried to put between " the DSP_ROM10 datastore name Any idea? Help?

I will try it asap. In the mean time I thank you very much for the time you've spent on it and because this will probably be useful as sample. regards

I agree with scripting but I'm facing myself with a wild and unknown territory I agree with the other part of you answer but: too many relationships but if I can obtain a table where, in caso of 2 WWPN for 1 WWNN the table is automatically splitted in two rows below the host name... ...knowing that OCI "knows" everythings form paths and others why I cannot easily obtain other infos suchs (i.e) all the LUN attached to that host? Of corse these infos together with the other about host and its connectivity in one report (we all know that using two or more reports we'll have them) Regards,

I've facing myself with the same issue. Attempting to cross storage-host informations. The suggested method does not work at all. There are no infos about host in the iSCSI section and this in my opinion is normal for I'm using an FCP SAN. It seems to me anyway very strange that there are no choice to obtain a simple linear table with these columns (bold what I can have from one DM and italic what I cannot): host name - wwn - wwpn - status - switch blade - switch port - volume - internal volume Any help?

I'll think about it. But this is a POC and after all opening a case will require time and effort to follow it. I agree with you about patching. I don't think this could solve this particular error. PS) covert? Maybe they want to write "convert" that makes sense
