one of my netapp luns is running oput of space. So I expanded the volume ad well as the lun in netapp after a rescan of hba on the host, I went into the datastore and select increase but do not see the extra space there anyt idea?

ok looks like I had tp enable tls on the filers option tls.enable on then it worked. is this not a good practice?

I am getting same error. IS this true that vvol is not supported on 7 mode anymore? We are running on 7 mode only and will not be upgrading to cluster mode. what options available?

ok thanks. but still if its RDM, is there a big different in using say vmware vs windows 2008 vs windows protocol if I do not plan to use snapdrive inside the GOS. why not use vmware instead? thank you

Still a bit confused. If an RDM is to be mapped to Windows VM (2008R2). I am not using snapdrive. should i use vmware or windows protocol?

ok got it. but now I am finding out that not all the luns are using same initiator ID. could this be a problem down the road? Is it ok to change the Lun Id on those intiators while the lune is online?

Is it ok to reassign lun IDs with the lun online or would that cause an issue in vmware? when I do lun show -m I see some luns dont have the same LUN ID used and I think best practice is to use same lun ID across all initiators groups for each lun?

someone created 2 luns as Windows luns and got mapped as RDM to a VM. now I cannot vmotion this vm to another host. givs this error. also going to another vmhost and add storage shows these 2 luns as available to add. any idea what to do?
