This is still the same. Trunking is not supported for backend switches. You can have multiple ISLs in which case you need to configure traffic isolation zones to segregate interconnect from disk traffic.

In case of “aggr copy” it any change after copying is started will not be replicated, so effectively you have to stop access to aggregate. For aggregate mirroring it will be done in background and all changes will be synchronized. You can continue to use aggregate during synchronization.

Starting with 8.0 (I think) it is possible to use VLAN base interface as well. Did this rc file actually work on a reboot? Also, have you ruled out a hardware problem on your new nic or on the network/switch side? How are you restricting the protocols to specific interfaces? options interface.blocked? You designate 10G interface (ifgrp) as favored using “ifgrp favor …” command. See Network Management Guide, Selecting an active interface in a single-mode interface group.

Customer wants to replace 2 x DS14 with 2 x DS2246. The problem is, adding two DS2246 would exceed total disks limit (FAS2240 - 144 disks) and there is no free space to migrate data until new shelves are added. Total platform capacity will not be exceeded. What happens when total number of disks goes above platform limit? Will filer continue to run or shuts down? It will be temporary state anyway until data is moved to new shelves. Thank you.

Please see API documentation - percentage counters are raw values which must be post-processed in relation to other (“base”) counters. Unfortunately, I do not know whether full list of counters and their properties exists so you will need to retrieve them yourself …

MetroCluster needs root aggregate mirrored which means two identical plexes; assuming RAID_DP each plex is 3 disks which gives 6 in total.

I cannot tell whether it should or not as it depends entirely on your configuration requirements. But it is not possible to change file permissions on NTFS qtree from NFS client. I do not really know what “chmod” on CIFS mount on AIX translates to. Do you have chance to use NFS?

I confirm this. Raw Autosupport on MyASUP sites contains /etc/rc, but the ASUP file downloaded from the same site as text has empty RC.GZ section. Same apparently for all other file attachments. This causes ConfigAdvisor to always emit large number of false alarms because it cannot parse /etc/rc. Please fix it. If you need test case - serials 200000289810 and 200000289822.

Your replacement disk was part of aggregate aggr0. Now filer imported this aggregate, renamed it to avoid confusion. It is failed because other disks from this aggregate are obviously missing. You need to destroy this foreign aggregate to make new disk spare.

Can't say for C-Mode, but 7-Mode has interface probing for single mode ifgrp. So it should detect such condition (although I admit to not fully understand how it actually works).
